Default 1974 F100 Vin code X engine?

I recently purchased a 1974 F100 and the 4th Vin character is an X.
F10XUT*****

I cant find anything that lists an X as an engine code for a F100??

I don't have the truck in my possession yet, its being shipped. The title has this X listing and it shows the state of Washington seal next to it verifying the vin number. Ill see if I can get the driver to snap a pic of the door tag...

I would be very careful - invalid vin on the title could be a real problem.

Not totally correct. The last 6 characters are a letter followed by 5 numbers, with "T" being valid for a 1974.

Default Whew!

I thought I had a bigger deal on my hands, my dads 1974 has a letter U and then five numbers as the last six.

Maybe they typed it in the wrong location of the vin. Attached is a page from LMC truck. They show an X but in front of the 10 instead of after.
