Default 1981 Temperature?

Hello, new here. I have a 1981 F100 with a 302 and manual transmission. The truck reads on the “A” of the “NORMAL” lettering on the temperature gauge. Is this acceptable or too hot?

Today's method is use an infrared thermometer at the thermostat housing. It needs to be checked under pressure.
