Question High Pressure Oil Line ?

'99 7.3 F250 4X4 its my old Horse Hauler
it has what I've been told, a blown rubber o-ring on the high pressure oil line
according to local folks I know with the same engine they say its common
the line is located on the rear of the engine on the right side under some stuff (? valve cover)
when it went out, the engine did an automatic shut down, I leaked oil down the road for about a mile


Ford wants $575 to fix it
the part cost about a dollar

I've never heard of this
and need some info, can anyone help me out

The high pressure lines go to both heads, they are special hydraulic o-rings that go in there.

Insert fork of the quick disconnect tool ZTSE4449 between the rubber umbrella and the steel flange on the high-pressure hose.
Prying with the tool is not necessary and will only result in tool damage.
Pull lightly on the hose to remove it from the fitting.
Install high-pressure hoses. Make sure that you hear a click, when inserting hose end (steel flange) into quick disconnect connector.
To prevent engine damage, make sure high-pressure hose connections are secure
pull on hose connections to verify secure engagement.

it was'nt a bearing or fluid
this tells you how to disconnect the fittings
and a homemade tool

Question oil & injectors

I was told It did the automatic shut down cause the engine lost so much oil it doesn't have any oil left to fire the injectors anymore
wheres that CatMechanic when you need him:twothumbsup:

sold the '99 F250 this AM for $8,250.00 this AM
the repairs were not done
the guy that came over to do the repairs bought it
I took it to his house on my trailer and we were both smiling on the way

down to 5 Trucks & 3 Tractors and one Ford 3000 in pieces, 3 riding lawn mowers and Dog with broke leg

sounds like the Wife may be getting that new F350 she's been wanting; she did'nt like the F450's dual rear wheels, she had a hard time keeping that outer wheel on the road

I love the 6.4, no doubt that 7.3 was a work horse, but the six fo got baaalllssss.
Tune and delete and you'll be lookin at 600 horse and over 1000 ft lbs.
