Question Timing chain issue

I have started to hear some noise under the hood.Thought it might be an idler pulley. So i took off my serpentine belt, and have come to the conclusion that it is the timing chain. The old girl has 250,000 miles on her and all i have ever had to replace on the engine so far is the alternator.I am debating on whether to replace the timing chain, and water pump.Or just buying a new crate motor and being done with any up coming problems. Being that the old reliable 4.6L has so many miles and things are bound to start popping up.What do y'all think? i would like to hear everybody's 2 cents on this issue.

Thanks,Skatebowd
