Thanks BT, I did get a new fuel pressure regulator and no change. As for PIP I'm going to have to read up on this not sure what that is.

After letting the truck sit for a few days it did start fine and ran fine, until I got home and was sitting in it and out of no where it started doing it again.

I turned off truck and sure enough the problem was back, when I turned the key on the fuel pump wouldn't stop and was rough getting started again.

I was talking to a buddy and he said it could be a bad EEC or ECM? I guess this is the CPU and it tells the primer when to stop? Makes sense just would like more evidence before I go spend $150 plus bucks.

Before I do that I am considering just for the heck of it replacing fuel pump relay and TPS. Which seem to fix a lot of problems I have read on here. I will be updating soon. Thanks

Default Case closed, I hope!

So I finally pulled the ECM on my truck and opened it up. It wasn't very obvious at first looking, so I carefully pushed a couple of the capacitors to the side and what do ya know one of them had burned a lead off to where it wasn't making contact. Another one looked a little questionable.

So with some help from Youtube I found a guy who actually had the same problem and he shows how to replace the capacitors. (Ford OBD-1 ECM Capacitor Replacement 1992 F-150)

I am postive this is the problem, but won't know until I put the ECM back in today.

Will probably replace the ECM eventually but this will work for now.

Exclamation Codes?

Yup, one thing I forgot to mention was that when the primer wouldn't stop I couldn't get any codes.

So when the fuel pump primes and continues to do so, it will start but run like crap. I would first check the fuel pump relay then ECM.

I priced ECM at O'Reilly's and the guys said $100 to $150 depending on which ECM I had.

The Capacitors were like $1, the one I needed came in a assortment so i ended up paying $7 for the whole bag even though I just needed that one. Oh well lots cheaper than $100!

Man, that's a good piece of info!!! I would have never thought to have opened up the ECM to take a look. I would have just bought another one.
