Default Another exhaust question

While perusing LMR's catalog I stumbled on to the offroad exhaust system listed on the linked page below. My truck is a 94 and the system lists model years 80 to 91. Would anybody know if this system would work on a 94? I like it because I could install it all myself and not have to pay a shop, or only pay a shop to weld the joints only. I need to do something with the exhaust soon and I would love to lose the cats. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fd/full.aspx?Page=143

The routing appears to be the same. Do the manifolds locate differently on the 302 from 80 - 91 to 92 - 94?

it's hard to say
the manifold hook up at the donut is the same
could be that just the pipe bends are different to get around stuff
I would not buy it unless i gave a call to the LMC tech line and asked them
but more than likely all you'll get is someone reading the same info and telling you it only fits '80-'91

don't know where you live but if you have to get an emission check for that year you may want to keep the cats

all in all, in my experience using something that was not list for my make or model; I spent a lot of time reconfiguring spending more $ and time and kicking myself in the ass for not getting the right part
I'm good at reconfiguring as sometimes out of necessity its the only way

Id shop around
go talk to a couple of shops and see what they tell you, you just may be surprised at what you find

heres one I found on line for $271 I added options

PS: if you do get a set or buy one I recommend that the bends be 'mandrel bent'

also if you are looking for performance gains, the new exhaust alone wont be felt on the butt dyno
as compared to doing a stock exhaust system
if you have some performance engine enhancing add on's, then headers and a 2 1/5" pipe would be the route
if not stay with the less expensive stock system minus the cats

You may be surprised how inexpensive a custom bent system might be at a local muffler shop. However, they won't touch it if the cats are gone or you want to ditch the cats.

Thanks guys. Jsoko, I saw the one you linked a couple of days ago. It's only a catback so I moved on. Today I went to an old muffler shop that I've used in the past that were "cat removal friendly". No testing here in FL and I was prepared to remove the cats with a battery sawzall myself on the side of the road next to the shop if I had to so they wouldn't being breaking the law, but he had no problem with doing it and gave me a price of $275 which includes a Magnaflow Y pipe and big Magnaflow 3" in/out muffler and 3" aluminized pipe. System will be 3" single and follow stock routing. I'm excited about getting it done.

I had duals on one of my parts trucks that ran from the manifolds all the way out back. My fixer-upper exhaust was cut off behind the first cat. A muffler and "Y' connector from Summit, my old pipes, cussin' and blood later and it was done. Mine is 3" muffler into 2 2.5 pipes. My 2 cents wort advice ..... have a muffler shop do it and skimp somewhere else!

Oh and mine is a 4.9L so wrinkle bend was ok (and free) since you don't use the word "performance" when speaking of a tractor motor!
