You are going to have fun trying to get the 5R110 working in place of the 4R100.

finally had a moment to climb underneath it yesterday. it's leaking between the tranny and transfer case. so it may be just something as simple as a tail shaft seal. i've planned on grabbing the 05 set up and and axles anyway. rather see it in my little shop at my house then someone else's. i have the wiring harness for the 05 and a programmer for the computer. research i've done says the bell housing has the same bolt pattern. do you think the computer will except the change?

i found the culprit to my troubles,.....leaking transfer case from vibration with the drive shaft. gonna replace the tail shaft seal on the tranny while i've got the transfer case out. picking up the drive shaft this afternoon. should have it and new transfer case back in it today. can't wait to get the beast back on the road.

That's a lot of money. Share your build soon. That would be interesting.

so i fell a little behind on my excursion repairs. but with school lurking right around the corner,...the pressure is on. i have the extension coupling off the back of the tranny. waiting on the Ford garage to get me the CORRECT gasket and seals so i can put it back together. new driveshaft looks good. got some new bolts for the drive shafts that are hex head instead of that starred, 12 point head that were stock. more photos to come.

it took me 3 different sockets to get them all out. once they were all out,..i threw them in the trash with many foul expletives during and following. i was ready to break out a torch about half way through.

got 'er all back together last night. started around 5:30ish, finished around 8:45. thought i had a couple of jugs of tranny fluid laying around,...i only had 1. test drive will have to wait until after work this afternoon. garage tried to sell me another incorrect gasket. thankfully they had the right 1 on the shelf. posting a few photos of the extension housing and transmission support going back in. i'll take some more of the completed install with the new drive shaft and post them later on.
