Default Ford to Debut Factory-Installed Remote Start Option on 2011 Super Duty, Heated Steeri

Ford to Debut Factory-Installed Remote Start Option on 2011 Super Duty, Heated Steering Wheel on 2011 Lincoln MKX
From the December, 2009 issue of Truck Trend
By Benson Kong

Nowadays, manufacturers are offering more options with the words "automatic," "remote," "heated," and "cooled" attached to them. Ford is keeping with the trends and will offer a factory-installed remote start option on the 2011 Super Duty, along with a new heated steering wheel option on the 2011 Lincoln MKX.

The Super Duty's remote start option will mark the first time Ford has offered the quick starter straight off the line. Remote start has been a popular Ford dealer option since the late 1990s, and given a recent J.D. Power Emerging Technology Study found that 90 percent of customers would prefer their remote start system to be factory-installed, the Blue Oval has been happy to oblige. The remote start factory option will then make its way across the Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury lines.

For those living in especially cold climates, the 2011 Lincoln MKX will have the option of a heated steering wheel. With all the automatic heaters and coolers available today, it looks like we, as consumers, will never have to drive in discomfort ever again.
