you may need to add or remove shims
or they have been giving you the wrong starter even if the part # is correct there are differances on the bolt face thickness

Well, the 88 got an oil and filter change, new Autolite spark plugs, new plug wires, washed it and waxed the wheels:

Looks good, doesn't look like it has a tranny cooler, does it?

The can that is literally a soup can? It's an evap can.
The cruise "can" is the one on the drivers side fender and looks completely different. It's bolted onto the fender right by the master cylinder.

It's not an Evap can, its a vacuum canister for the AIR system, and supplies vacuum to the TAD\TAB solenoids when the motor isn't creating enough vacuum to actuate the valves. From the looks of behind the grille, theres no transmission cooler. If you ever do anything to that truck add a cooler and a remote filter. It makes the AOD go from a 90,000 mile transmission to 260,000+ mile transmission.

You're right booba sorry, I got the coffee cans mixed up with the actual evap canister, that is plastic and in the same general area.

The cab and fenders have the only good paint, the hood has some gnarly gashes in it and the bed is flaking paint, it is already to the base primer. So, I've gotta get paint by using these two paint codes, 2D 1G.
