what kind of filter and oil were you useing ??

The oil pressure should not drop below 25psi at idle. If the cam caps were ok and not scored that is a good thing. They also have problems with the gaskets blowing out on the chain tensioners which feed the solenoids and phasers.

If it was sludged with only 62k on it, it was not maintained properly. The Ford 5.4 3 valve is very sensitive to oil quality and grade and proper oil filter and change intervals.

2003 F-150 XL RCSB 2wd 4.2 5 speed 3.55 LS
