I've been working on the '48
new bars and seat
looking for a 7" flat chrome rear fender

I finally switched over to 12V, got a Mallory electronic distributor
not decided on the front wheel yet
what you see is a skinny 21" single disc off an '02 FXE
also have a stock wide 16" dual disc off an '81 FLT
staying with the original mechanical drum brake on the rear

I'm trying to have it ready for the Spring Shovelhead Retreat at the Kickstand Lodge in Stecoah N.C.; 28 Apr - 1 May
mark your calendar and meet me at the house and we can ride up (125 mi. North of the house, brings some friends; I stay Friday & Saturday night) you don't have to be a Shovel owner, just an invite from a member (me) http://www.shovelhead.us/forum/

here it is on the ground
this is a 1980 FXEF frame and tins
a 1982 FXRS engine 80 cu. in. , and 1982 wheels
a 5 speed RevTec performance trans; 1980 had a 4 speed

recent re-build by a local indy that specializes in Pans & Shovels, the wiring is new also

this bike is surprisingly very fast, the close ratio trans really gets it going and holds in the high RPM range;
to enjoy the full potential of the engine, that seat will have to be changed as will the drag bars (straight handlebars)
I opened it up through 2nd & 3rd and my butt slid back to the fender
what a rush; I Like It
