Default Can a 56 F100 tow 3500lbs?

Hello All, I am new to the forum and new to classic trucks trucks. I am planning to purchase a 56 and to justify it to my wife, I have a 14' work trailer which weighes 3,000lbs and w all the extras, all-in at 3500lbs. The trailer does electric brakes. The truck has stock brakes, stock leaf springs, a Chevy 350 (sacrilege, I know), and 350 turbo transmission, and 9" rear end.

Any info is greatly appreciated! Also, how in the world are prices of these trucks so all over the place? They seem to range from $30k to $180k - wow!

You can BUT you need to make sure the trailer brakes work. Also the lief springs may need a upgrade if old and wore out. A 65 truck is to cool to pull a trailer JMO
