Default power door lock actuators.....

I have a 90 ford f150 xlt lariat supercab 4x2 5.0 e40d and my power door lock actuator are shot. I managed to remove them without drilling the rivets. So has anybody ever figure out a way to get into these actuators and repair them? I lubricated and had them working for awhile but now there dead. I'm going to go to the junkyard and get a couple so I was wondering how do you bench test these before purchasing? Has anybody changed to a different actuator or aftermarket? please help its my last thing to fix inside the truck!
