Hay Klitch, well I resorted to calling the Souths authority on any and everything Kevin Thompson; it would'nt surprise me if his reputation has made it to the NorthWest

what you have Klitch is a 1971, F600, 2 axle, gas truck, engine size is 330 2V HD, made at the Louisville KY plant
he said you have a tough engine with forged crank due to the HD in the engine code

he can give more info if you take a pic or write down the info with the correct spacing per line from the plate rivited on the drivers door

he also said the 5th letter in your VIN is not a V but a U, he also belives you have a 2 speed axle

I paid 1200 for it, I feel that was a fair price considering it does need some work. Brakes #1 and hydraulic cyl leaks around the packing gland.

It is a 2spd rear axle, I've never driven one before, I haven't tried shifting it just yet.

Good to know what I've got that way its less hassle if I order parts for it down the road.

Score: brake reservoir was very low, brakes work great!!!

Dump cylinder has me confused since there is no reservoir for it, 2 lines from the cylinder and pump. Makes me wonder where a guys suppose to fill from, and if 68wt hydraulic oil will work.

Been busy playing with the girlyfriend. I Haven't found out the appropriate method for filling a power up / power down hydraulic cylinder. I did however lift the bed as far as possible, brace it, then remove the bleeder valve and bushing to use that as a fill point. which worked very well. the cylinder now has full function. Though I need to figure out the shaft seal (need to give the gf a rest) since it does leak significantly.

I'm looking for a rollback tarp to put on the overhead protector.

also looking at making a hook on the front and tailgate to use a come-along to pull the gate back up into place if I decide to use it as a open bed.

I've thrown some rust killer on the passenger floor boards. The carpet remnant thrown in there and original rubber floor mat got thrown out.

I just have trust issues

Rust killer, I usually use the rustoleum brand stuff so this can is what I usually use, but with a different logo for NAPA.

Used her the other day, "finished" the secondary driveway, will need another load of gravel to smooth over, I have pics of the secondary driveway to upload, may do that tomorrow. She works well enough for $1200 that I am happy! I usually tease the girlfriend that it may become my truck instead of stitches. :P
