Default HELP! 1997 f250 cold problems

I have a 1997 ford f250 that run's like crap when cold, in any weather till temp gauge in cab reads halfway, it bucks and feels like its only running on 4 cylinders, does anyone know what else the ECM gets temp info from? it does not have O.B.D on it, it has the E.E.C so I cant read codes

250 Super Duty? Which engine and transmission?
