Default 1999 F350 Super Duty 7.3 With Turbo Issue

i have a 99 f350 superduty with a 7.3 and when the ambiant temp gets to below 50 degrees the turbo doesnt work right when it is not under a load but does if under a load

I would say to look at the sensor first. May be a faulty sensor.

Are you building boost at all?

My 7.3 did this before it warmed up I would only throw a couple pounds of boost. Also I know back around then some F-150 sensers dont work well in the cold, I wonder if you got that?

2004 F-150 Heritage 4.6

the 7.3 likes to build heat by playing with the wastegate. is this the feeling your talking about?

no i donnt have any programers and yes it is the waste gate isue but i dont no what to do about it

I dont think you can get around that surging feeling your getting. Its trying to build the engine temperature. Does it go away when you've hit operating temperatures? If it doesn't then you may have a problem.
