well I really didnt wanna do it, but it appears I need a tough ass rear end, and its spendy as hell to build a 9" to payload as well.

I personally wouldnt have used a 2002, I believe those axles have a UNIT bearing design that will hate big tires. And you are sure its a D60 and not D50 they had both that year.

I would have went something pre 92...

only plan on 35's, my dads 00 D50 has been going well since mile 0 with 35's so I feel confident enough with that one issue. has over 60k on it now. I know its not a lot, but thats all the more we drive.

I'm well aware 2002 was the year they mixed 50/60, I asked Jesse how to distinguish, he told me he thinks the pinion nut for the D50 was 1 1/8th and the D60 was 1 5/16. If they try handing me the D50 I'll bark about it.

I chose these axles more for the sake of having something in common with another vehicle around here, although parts wont interchange on the front, the rear will, and wheels can be swapped n such. plus I get to keep the ABS function.

simple, going leafs (hence 2002 front axle), I'm not confident in myself doing a 4link front.

Have to wait for calipers to come to me UPS, original yard pulled a partly scavenged pair of axles even though I specified complete hub to hub. The yard in Graham WA was super nice, hooked me up with one of their rear axles (franchise type yard idea) that was complete minus calipers, and rotors for the front axle, as well as the engagement hub.

original yard sent me front axle without calipers, rotors or the engagement hub. rear axle had the pinion nut pulled (successfully sent me a core) no calipers, one rotor and one side had been stripped of wheel studs. was almost a bad day until Meridian auto wrecking pulled it together best they could.
