Center Console Shifter........light?
Hey all, just noticed last night that I couldn't see my gear indication on my center console mounted shifter. BUT, come to think of it, I never noticed if it was EVER lit up.
Does anyone know if this is back lit or not? If it is, it's a burned out bulb, if not, no worries.
I was just looking down at it while I was parked, and just said hmmmmm, out loud.
Thanks for the input.

Yes Vinnie there is a little bulb in there. When I bought my FX4 last year it was burned out and it drove me nuts. It's a pretty easy fix. Open you arm rest console and you'll see a square notch. Insert a straight blade screw driver in there and gently pry back till you hear the pop. Then you lift the rear and gently rock to release the front tab/tabs. Then it will lift right off over your shifter. The bulb holder resembles the ones for license plate bulb holder. I forget the bulb number, but it's a little booger. I'm actually gonna replace mine with a white LED sometime soon. Hollar at me Vin if you have any questions. I've had mine off a couple times.

You're welcome, man. I was surprised how easy it was once I found out how to proceed with it. BTW the bulb is a 194 wedge.

Glad to be able to help! I think the standard bulb for that fixture cost me like a buck maybe, they're super cheap. I'm gonna stick a LED 194 when I order more LEDs online.
