Post Interior Door Disassembly: '04-'08

Howdy folks. Here's another installment on how to remove the interior door panels of your truck. This is specific for a 2008 XL Screw. All 2004-2008 F150 front doors should be exactly the same. Reg and Super cabs will be different for the rear doors, but generally the same procedure. This will be helpful for those of you wanting to add sound dampening material, upgrading your door speakers, or other things that you may need to do that require you to get inside the doors.

Default Front Doors

First, we shall begin with the tools required for this process:

Now, it’s time to tackle the door panel removal process. We’ll start with the front doors first. Drivers side, then passenger side.

Driver’s door panel:

Front Passenger Door Panel:

Assembly is pretty much the reverse order. Next up, Rear door panel removal in a Screw with notes for Rcabs and Scabs.

Default Rear Doors

Alright, now it’s on to the rear door panels. I’ll provide additional info for those that have the Regular cab and Super Cab as I go along.

Tools are the same as in the above post.

Rear door panels:

Regular cabs, this does not apply. Scabs, you’ll have a “window garnish moudling” at the front and rear of the window.

Regular cabs, this does not apply. Scabs, you’ll have 2 screws, rear screw is located in the same area as in the picture, and the front screw will be located “opposite”, towards the front of the window, in the “same area.”

Regular cabs and Scabs, you only have 1 screw located at the bottom.

Regular cabs, does not apply. Scabs, your door handle is orientated 90*, and has a door handle bezel bolt holding the cover plate.

Regular cabs do not apply. Scabs, similar procedure for the window control switch.

Regular cabs do not apply, Scabs similar.

Regular cabs do not apply, Scabs similar.

Regular cabs do not apply. Scabs, you’ll have the 2 bolts behind the cover plate, but not one located under the switch panel.

Regular cabs, your panels are held on by tabs, no lifting up is required. Scabs, you have to remove the door handle first, and then pull up on the panel to release it from the door. Rcabs and Scabs, you guys are officially done.

Assembly is in the reverse order.
